january discoveries

I don't know about you but January has never been my favorite time of year. Between the post-holiday blues and drab weather, it's less than inspiring. Here in New Mexico we at least don't have to deal with subzero temperatures and relentless snow. I feel for all of my friends and family who are suffering during these winter months.

Last year I did a few monthly "wish list" posts but I've decided that moving forward "discoveries" is more fitting. This way I can share more than just products or items I want but also other things I've found or used. So without further ado, here are my discoveries for this month. I hope you enjoy them!

Dr. Scholl's Vienna II Slip On - $88.00

Ok so when did Dr. Scholl's start making stylish shoes? When it comes to my footwear I don't like to sacrifice comfort but I still want to be stylish. These d’orsay flats are at the top of my wish list, along with several other styles.

The Sweet Petite - $19.00 per box

After seeing Jenna Kincaid's home tour on The Everygirl, I had to check out her company, The Sweet Petite. For $19.00 you can send a box of gourmet cookies to someone special. So often these types of services are really expensive but this genius ideas is totally affordable.

Rifle Paper Co. Dog Collar - $18.00

Attention!!! I have found Zoey's next collar! I'm a HUGE Rifle Paper Co. fan and was beyond excited when I discovered this adorable collar on Etsy.

Yellow Lab Watercolor Print - $30.00

Speaking of Zoey, I would love to get a custom portrait of her made but they tend to be a bit on the pricey side. Instead, I found this sweet print on Etsy that looks a lot like our little miss.

The Wellness Mama Cookbook - $18.06

To my surprise I hadn't heard of Wellness Mama until I stumbled upon this cookbook while strolling through the aisles at Target. I had a little money left on a Christmas gift card so I decided to snatch it up. I made my first recipe from the book last night and it turned out pretty well, minus not cooking my sweet potatoes long enough.

Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker - $50.35

Dale's aunt and uncle gave us this ice cream maker for our wedding. It came with this handy recipe book and we finally tried it out for the first time this weekend. For our first attempt we decided to keep it simple and make vanilla. Let's just say I think many more ice cream making sessions are in our future.

Fisher-Price Black Tote Bag - $44.99

So I never would have pegged Fisher-Price for creating stylish, functional diaper bags but they sure do. Right now we use one to transport some of the boys' items back and forth between visits. When the time comes, I'll definitely be getting a bag like this one. There is a designated spot for wipes and diapers, and it even comes with a changing pad too. Plus, it's affordable!

The Butter Half

I've followed Along Abbey Road blog for awhile but only last week discovered that Abbey also has an amazing food blog called The Butter Half. Her food photography is absolutely stunning and the recipes look delicious. There are so many I want to try!
